About World Migratory Bird Day

World Migratory Bird Day this year brings awareness to the impact that plastics is having on migratory birds and how simple and fun actions can have a positive impact! With the them being Protect Birds: Be the Solution to Plastic Pollution this year we are asking those who are interested in hosting an event to consider also hosting a garbage cleanup in the area. Imagine the positive impact we could have if there were dozens of garbage clean ups happening across the country just as the migratory birds are coming back!

After 25 years, International Migratory Bird Day becomes World Migratory Bird Day, joining with partners across the globe to unify our voices for bird conservation. this year, Nature Canada is pleased to partner with Environment for the Americas on World Migratory Bird Day! For more information, please visit, and for more information specific to the World Migratory Bird Day, click here!
